Yame Matcha & Houjicha, made in Japan
Current Collection
Less than 1% of Japan's matcha comes from Yame, a small region known for producing some of Japan's finest teas.
Yame matcha is known for its naturally nutty sweetness — a flavour profile rarely found in matcha from anywhere else.
The misty mornings of Yame create a natural "fog curtain" that helps tea leaves grow sweeter and richer in flavour.
In 1191, tea seeds arrived in Kyushu with the monk Eisai. Today, the same island is home to Yame's renowned matcha.
First harvest leaves are shade-grown for about 3 – 4 weeks before picking. Less sunlight boosts chlorophyll and L-theanine, giving matcha its deep green colour and rich umami.
A good whisk creates a fine layer of foam that softens bitterness, highlights sweetness, and makes every sip feel a little smoother.
A powder room is where one goes to freshen up. Ours just happens to do so with tea powders.
Sea otters hold hands when they sleep so they don’t drift apart. Isn’t that cute?
What Our Travellers Say
One of my fav matcha I've tried so far!! Nutty & balanced, no grassy or "siap siap" taste if you get it >.< a very beginner friendly matcha too! Also love how the opening set comes w an air tight container that I can reuse over and over again!
Highly recommend! This matcha has a rich umami taste and came super fresh in a tightly sealed pack. The packaging is pretty and carefully packed, with the cutest little instruction card that made it so easy to whip up a cup. It turned making matcha into the happiest little self-care ritual!
This is the first matcha powder I've gotten, and girl, I am hooked. I usually get my matcha fix from cafes but they're often bitter. But this matcha is so fresh and rich and has that nuttiness to it as well. YUMS!! Whisking my own matcha has become such an enjoyable addition to my daily routine. Also, the illustrated instructions are so cute and informative too! I'm actually obsessed frfr
First time trying Powder Room's matcha and won't be the last! True to description where matcha is earthy and creamy in texture 😍
I really recommend this if you like nutty matcha! It's exactly what I look for in a matcha so I was really happy to be able to try this and also support a local Singaporean business at the same time. And at slightly more than $1 SGD per gram, I think the price is pretty reasonable. Will be reordering!
I used to think matcha tasted like blended grass until Powder Room's matcha proved me wrong. Smooth, velvety, and perfectly balanced. I am now a convert!
I started making my own matcha latte at home using the matcha powder from The Powder Room. It is a very therapeutic experience — from opening the pretty canister, to scooping the vibrant green powder, to whisking, to mixing with oat milk. The matcha has a rich, creamy, nutty and sweet taste profile. Thank you for the joyful matcha experience!
Super happy with this new matcha in Singapore. Have been drinking matchas at cafés and thought to start making it at home. Love that it is nutty and tastes very different from the usual uji ones you get in cafés.
Thank you for bringing this incredible matcha blend to Singapore! Having tried multiple brands and blends, this is clearly a winner. This unique flavour from Yame stands out — smooth, rich, and layered — offering something special beyond the usual matcha profiles.
You definitely have to get this Yame matcha! It froths up beautifully (even for a beginner like me) creating a smooth velvety texture. The flavour is gorgeous — nutty, fragrant, and deeply comforting. The opening set comes with a meticulously crafted premium washi paper canister which I absolutely love 💕
Bought this matcha as a gift for my girlfriend, and it was a hit. The packaging is really nice — the baby blue canister made it feel special and gift-worthy right from the start. I made an earl grey matcha and it turned out great. Perfect mix of quality and presentation!
I was pleasantly surprised by this matcha powder! It has a distinct nutty undertone that sets it apart from the usual grassy, bitter varieties — smooth, rich, and incredibly comforting. The baby blue canister is not just aesthetically pleasing, but practical too. Great both for daily use and as a thoughtful gift. Highly recommend!
I really love the nuttiness and roasted taste in this hojicha, but at the same time not overwhelming or powdery like some others I drank in cafes. Smells super fragrant as well. Recommend for anyone who loves hojicha and even oolong tea.
